About us

Who we are

We're the charitable heart of Green School New Zealand, catalysing the regeneration of children, families, teachers, communities, and the land itself.

Green School Foundation NZ was established in 2018 when the Green School community recognized a powerful truth: regeneration cannot be a privilege available only to those who can afford it. We saw talented children missing out on education that could transform not just their lives, but their entire families and communities. We witnessed passionate groups with brilliant ideas for restoring whenua but lacking resources to begin.

What started as a small scholarship fund has evolved into a movement for regeneration—of education, of land, of community relationships, and ultimately of our planet. We’ve learned that when you regenerate education, you regenerate families; when you restore whenua, you restore community; when you support teachers, you influence generations.

We’re proud to be based in Taranaki, a region courageously regenerating itself from an extractive past to a regenerative future, and to support the restoration of land and learning across Aotearoa.

Today, we’re more than a funding organization—we’re catalysts for the regeneration our planet desperately needs.
